April 21, 2010- Jeanette Chavez, Tina Yamashiro and Ernie Yamashiro received each a Certificate of Completion for "2nd Annual Victims' Rights Symposium signed by Los Angeles County District Attorney, Steve Cooley.

Marsy's Law: How Prosecution and Parole has been affected by the Enactment of Proposition 9, Right to Fairness: Enforcing Victims' Participation in the Court process and Ensuring Restitution and Right to Dignity: Enforcing Victims' Privacy Rights and Ensuring Dignity.
March 8, 2010- Jeanette Chavez (Sammantha's mom) received "2010 Woman of the Year Award" presented by District 49, Assemblymember Mike Eng at the Assembly Chamber of the State Capitol.
For her efforts resulted in the founding of the Los Angeles Region Crime Stoppers, a county wide hotline to place anonymous tips to help solve crimes.

The tipsters' information is used by law enforcement to investigate crimes and capture the criminals responsible. The tipsters' identities are completely anonymous. When providing crime tips, the tipster's identity is always encrypted, and a private code is assigned to the tipster. If the information provided leads to an arrest, the tipster is eligible to receive a reward of up to $1,000.
